About Fred De Sena
Ferdinando De Sena is a Brooklyn-born American composer He lives in Miami and teaches at the New World School of the Arts, and from 2003 to 2009 was Director of the Electronic Music Studio at the University of Miam. He teaches composition, music technology, and advanced analysis.
Fred De Sena was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1950. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Music at Ithaca College, and earned both a Master of Music degree in Electronic and Computer Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition, at the University of Miami. His principal teachers were Dennis Kam, Don Wilson, and Peter Rothbart.
His music has been performed at international, national and regional conferences of the College Music Society, Society of Composers, Inc., International Computer Music Conference, Society for Electroacoustic Music in the United States, International Double Reed Society, Laboratorio de Investigación y Producción Musical (LIPM) Buenos Aires, and at many other concert and theatrical venues.
