featuring Peter Van Zandt Lane and P-D-M-D
November 19 at 9PM. GAB Studio, 105 Northwest 23rd Street Miami, FL 33127.
Peter Van Zandt Lane (b. 1985), a composer and bassoonist currently living in New England, has written for ensembles of all types and often employs the use of electronics in his music. With backgrounds and interests ranging from classical music, modernism, early music, and rock, he draws on his diverse experiences to create music that is fresh, genuine, and widely engaging. Critics have described his music as having “propulsive rhythms” and “surprising lyricism” (Boston Musical Intelligencer) appealing to musicians and audiences “no matter their personal musical aesthetic” (Asymmetry Music Magazine). His overarching compositional aims are to write music that stretches the virtuosic abilities of performers, challenges expectations of audiences, and most of all, unite enthusiastic musicians in the positive, collaborative spirit of performance.
PDMD is a live electronic music ensemble from Miami, Florida. It was formed in 2009. It's members, all composers, are musicians who's expertise include, Renaissance, Jazz, Popular, and Contemporary performance genres.
PDMD memebers are Nestor Prieto (percussion and electronics), Fred De Sena (keyboards and electronics), Larry Moore (saxophone and electronics) and Brian Del Toro (guitar and electronics).
